Vacancies & Remuneration
1. Assistant Manager (Legal) / E-III (Job Code: AML-01)
No. of Posts: 1
Pay Scale: Rs. 50,000 – 3% – Rs. 1,60,000
Upper Age Limit (as on 01.03.2026): 32 years
Reservation: UR-01
Post-Qualification Experience: 4 to 5 years of relevant experience
2. Deputy Manager (Legal) / E-IV (Job Code: DML-02)
Pay Scale: Rs. 60,000 – 3% – Rs. 1,80,000
Upper Age Limit (as on 01.03.2026): 36 years
Post-Qualification Experience: 8 to 9 years of relevant experience
Other Benefits: Dearness Allowance, HRA, 35% of Basic Pay as Perquisites, Performance Related Pay (PRP), Group Life Insurance, Medical Reimbursement, PF, Pension, Gratuity, etc. as per BEL rules.
Essential Qualification
• Bachelor’s Degree in Law (LLB / BL) from a recognized Indian University.
• LLM will be preferred.
• First Class for General candidates; Pass Class for PwBD candidates.
Mandatory Relevant Experience (as on 01.03.2026)
For Assistant Manager (Legal) E-III (4–5 years):
• Customs clearance procedures at Airports & Sea Ports
• Classification of goods (HSN) for correct duty rates
• Thorough knowledge of Foreign Trade Policy, FTAs, SEZ rules, EPCG & Advance Authorizations
• Drafting replies to Show Cause Notices, appeals, written submissions & cross-objections
• Court / Tribunal appearances before Customs Appellate Authority, Anti-Dumping Authorities & Advance Ruling Authorities
• Excellent verbal & written communication skills
• Exposure to SAP / ERP
For Deputy Manager (Legal) E-IV (8–9 years):
• Comprehensive advisory on Customs, Foreign Trade Policy, FTAs, cross-border supply chains & Anti-Dumping duties
• Tax planning, compliance reviews & gap identification
• Preparation of customized compliance manuals on Customs & FTP
• Proficient drafting of legal notices, appeals & submissions
• Court / Tribunal appearances & legal arguments (same authorities as above)
• Excellent verbal & written communication skills
Selection Process
• Written Test (85 marks) + Interview (15 marks)
• Minimum qualifying marks: 35% (General), 30% (PwBD) in both stages separately
• Written Test venue: Bengaluru only
