IT ministry has released a press note stating that the ministry has banned 43 Apps under section 69A of IT Act which are engaged in activities which contravene the sovereignty, integrity and security of India.
This step has been taken on the basis of reports provided by the Ministry of Home Affairs.
It is also stated by the IT ministry that the step has been taken in accordance with the established rules and procedures and proper monitoring of these Apps have been done before taking steps for blocking these Apps.
