On Saturday, the Chief Justice of India (CJI) NV Ramanathat opined to Indianise the justice delivery system, while flagging several areas of concern in the way the Indian justice delivery system currently functions.
He pointed out that even after 74 years of independence, traditional and agrarian societies that have been following customary ways of life and still feel hesitant to approach courts.
He added that the Indian legal system in its present form fails to consider several social realities and implications.
He further addressed the gathering that these are issues he wants to address by Indianising the legal system.
