In the case involving alleged damage at AIMIM chairman Asaduddin Owaisi’s house, a Delhi Court sentenced one offender to one day policy detention and four others to 14 days judicial custody on Wednesday.
The decision was issued by Metropolitan Magistrate Amardeep Kaur after the Delhi Police detained five people in the case, all of them are members of the Hindu Sena group. While accused Lalit was placed under policy custody for one day, other accused people such as Shivam, Sachin, and others were placed in judicial custody.
The police had maintained that interrogating Lalit in prison was important for the purpose of recovering the weapon as well as uncovering the suspected conspiracy in the case.
The Delhi Police had filed a FIR in accordance with sections 427 and 188 of the Indian Penal Code, as well as other provisions of the Prevention of Damage to Public Property Act.
The five guys detained are accused of vandalising Owaisi’s residence and damaging the door, nameplate, lights, and windows.
