The plea was hearing about the judgment on June 30 which gave directions to the National Disaster Management Authority to frame guidelines for who died due to covid and provide them compensation. They also seek guidelines for issuing death certificates easier.
The guidelines framed by NDMA are for Rs 50,000 as ex-gratia compensation for covid deaths. It will be paid by States from the State Disaster Response Fund.
A bench of justices in the Supreme Court was satisfied with the Centre’s decision. They are all very happy about providing 50,000 as ex-gratia compensation to covid deaths.
