On Tuesday Madaras High Court order the steps to be taken for recovering the compensation from the illegal miners who are desecrating the ecology.
A Bench comprising Chief Justice Sanjib Banerjee and Justice P.D. Audikesavalu observed the Public Interest Litigation petition filed by Advocate C. Prabhu for stopping the illegal stone quarrying activities taking place in Kallakuruchi district. He also said that there are many more minors in that same district that are working beyond the licensed areas.
The court looked at the report by Principal Secretary in The Industrial Department which said that the complaint has been filed against the concerned persons and illegal mining activities have been stopped.
On Tuesday the advocate said to the court that the criminal case has been under Section 360 Of IPC and under the mines and minerals laws against the illegal miners as well.
The Bench has kept the PIL pending for 4 weeks. It is assessing the measure that the State Government will take against the illegal miners.
The matter will be heard on 2nd November.
