Mistake and Negligence on part of the school management must not make the students suffer: Bombay HC

In a recent case, the Nagpur bench of Bombay High Court held that the students should not be made to suffer due to the negligence of staff. In this case, the Trust running Saraswati Junior College alongside 3 students moved to Court as the college clerk had not uploaded the forms and information of the 3 students of 12th standard for Board evaluation.

The Court then ordered an enquiry for the matter and directed for investigation. The result of enquiry evidently showed the mistake on behalf of the clerk and the negligence on the part of the staff including the Principal.

The bench headed by Justices Sunil Shukre and Anil Kilor directed the concerned authorities to submit the details of the 3 students and further directed the Maharashtra State Board of Secondary Education to announce their results by September 15th, 2021.

The Court further held that the mistake and negligence of the clerk and the School Management must not make the students suffer as one mistake could affect the entire academic year. The Court advised the authorities to avoid such mistakes in the future.
