On Wednesday, a Delhi court freed Congress MP Shashi Tharoor of all allegations in connection with the murder of his wife, entrepreneur Sunanda Pushkar.
Geetanjali Goel, a special judge at Rouse Avenue Court, rendered the judgment via teleconferencing. She expressed gratitude to both parties’ counsels and stated that she had learned a lot from the trial.
In 2014, the former Union minister was charged under Indian Penal Code Sections 306 (abetment to suicide) and 498A (marital cruelty). After his acquittal, he described the experience as “total agony for seven years.”
