On Monday, the Supreme Court declined to grant any interim protection for coercive action to former Maharashtra Home Minister Anil Deshmukh in a money laundering case registered by the Enforcement Directorate (ED).
The court said that it is subject to Deshmukh to pursue appropriate remedies under law.
Further the court stated-
“We are not inclined to grant any interim relief. The petitioner is at the liberty to access remedies under Code of Criminal Procedure (CrPC).”
After the ED issued notice to Deshmukhseeking his appearance in a money laundering case, he moved to Supreme Court .
