The petition was filed by Ananya patki an ICSE Board student.
The state government of Maharashtra had decided to hold a Common Entrance Test (CET) for class XI admission which is based only on the syllabus for the state board.
Advocate General for the state argued that all students get admission but those who want colleges of their choice they need to take the CET.
The Bombay High Court allows a student plea and refused to conduct the CER on August 21.
The Bench also asked Maharashtra government to take admissions based on their class 10 marks and internal assessments.
The court further told that to complete the admission process within six weeks.
