On 4th August, Rajasthan High Court dismissed a criminal complaint of defamation filed in the year 2017 against Actor Akshay Kumar concerning the movie Jolly LLB 2.
The fact was, defamation case has been filed on the basics of trailer of the film alleging some scenes are against the lawyers’ community.
Petitioner contended of having no ill intention against any individual or any class of lawyers and fundamental rights under Art 19(1) (a) and Art 19 (1) (g) of Indian Constitution is violated.
Further submitted that Bombay High Court reviewed the entire film and after deleting some part of the film got certification for release and has received no objection from any community.
Further observed, that Trial Court has only considered the trailer of the film and not the full film.
The bench headed by Justice Satish kumar Sharma quashed the order of acquittal passed by Additional chief metropolitan Magistrate No 20, Sanganer Jaipur Metropolitan under Sec 500 IPC.
