It has been disclosed by the Madhya Pradesh High Court that around 1,864 video conferencing systems have been installed at districts courts, hospitals, jails, Railway and Juvenile courts across the State.
It has been stated by the press as well that the High Court has conducted approximately 3,61,164 video conference hearings during the pandemic, till June 30, 2021.
About 5,27,906 virtual hearings has been conducted by the district Judiciary till the end of last month.
Further it is mentioned that Madhya Pradesh High Court is first in the Country to extend the Video conferencing facility to the all courts across the state.
Currently all the District Court complexes have the facilities of Video Conferencing with Central Jails/District Jails/Sub-Jails which facilitates the transaction of judicial business with respect to recording of evidence, judicial remand and to speed-up the trial.
Moreover, the facility of video conferencing is also made available with District Hospitals for recording evidence of Doctors from District Hospital itself.
This arrangement may reduce the burden on Doctors and also help the Police/Jail Staff in ensuring security and safety of prisoners.
