Twitter informs the Delhi High Court that it is nearing the end of the process of hiring a resident grievance officer for India

The Delhi High Court has been notified that Twitter Inc is close to hiring a resident grievance officer in India. The answer was issued in response to an existing plea by Amit Acharya, who claimed that the three-month term ended on May 25, 2021, and even that Twitter has yet to establish a resident grievance officer to clarify things about tweets on its site.

Twitter Inc stated in its statement that the plaintiff’s complaint was accepted and acknowledged by the replying respondent, Twitter Inc, within 24 hours on May 26, 2021. Furthermore, on June 9, this complaint was resolved before 15 days, as required by Rule 3(2) of the Information Technology (Intermediary Guidelines and Digital Media Ethics Code) Rules, 2021 (“Intermediaries Guidelines”). The petition will be heard before the Delhi High Court on July 6.

Twitter also claims that the current plea is unmaintainable, and also that the matter of maintainability must be determined before the appeal is heard on its merits. It further told the Court that it is nearing completion of the process of choosing a temporary Chief Compliance Officer, whose information has been given to the Centre. As a result, Twitter Inc requested that the Delhi High Court to reject the case in limine as unmaintainable.
