A cheque of an amount of Rs. 1 Crore issued by Jammu and Kashmir Government as financial assistance for the advocates working under different courts of the Union Territory of J&K. It’s done keeping in mind the impact of Covid19 on the legal profession.
A communication in this regard was being issued by the additional secretary to the government of Jammu and Kashmir, Department of Law, Justice and parliament affairs, Ashish Gupta, in which there was a mention of the cheque of amount Rs. 1 crore in the favour of Registrar General of Jammu and Kashmir High Court.
The communication was as,”I’m directed to refer your letter No. 18154/RG/LP dated 29-05-2021 regarding grant of financial assistance in favour of the advocates working in the different Courts of UT of Jammu and Kashmir. In this connection, it is informed that Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor J&K has sanctioned an amount of Rs. 1:00 crore as financial assistance in favour of advocates working in different courts of UT of Jammu and Kashmir out of Relief Fund,”.
Earlier, the J&K Government issued the financial grant for the lawyers and clerks working in the Union Territory of Ladakh.
