To resolve the issue between a warehouse at Ferozepur and farm law protestors, the Punjab and Haryana High Court has directed to form a committee.
The court has directed to form a committee and think out of the box to prevent further damage to food grains lying at the warehouse.
It was observed by Justice Manjari Nehru, āThis Court has no doubt in its mind that as stated in the aforementioned affidavits/status reports filed by the State of Punjab, the State is doing its best to ensure that the law takes its own course and no untoward incident happens. As noticed earlier, this is not simply a law and order problem but is an extraordinary situation requiring an extraordinary response.ā
The petitioner is the owner of the warehouse and has approached the High Court after being disappointed by the Deputy Commissioner, district collector and the chief minister.
The court observed that the same has to be resolved by the senior officials’ intervention so that the supply chain will remain unaffected and the grains will not go waste.
The Committee to be formed by the Court shall comprise of the Principal Secretary Home, Government of Punjab; Additional Director General of Police, Law and order Punjab; Deputy Commissioner, Ferozepur and senior Superintendent of police with some other officers as well.
