A Bench led by the newly appointed Chief Justice of Allahabad High Court, Justice Sanjay Yadav asked AAG Manish Goyal, appearing for the State.
“We want to know the status regarding action you have taken up till now to meet the challenge of this pandemic. Whether the virus is going to stay with us for long. What is your plan for future to tackle this Covid -19 situation?
During hearing, AAG Goyal placed an affidavit to seeking plan for upgradation of facilities in 5 districts.
What was the occasion that report is filed only in respect of 5 districts? Why not for entire state of UP? Asked by Chief Justice.
AAG said as a precedent decision by Bombay high court which was refused by Division bench for seeking door-to-door vaccination for old persons.
CJ told the intervenor- The situation in UP and Maharashtra is very difficult. There is number of deaths in these two states and Bombay high court decision cannot be precedent here.
So at last Allahabad HC asked the UP government to come up with a road map for tackling the Covid -19 situation and file an affidavit regarding the present status of pandemic.
