The Delhi High Court granted bail to Asif Iqbal Tanha , Devangana Kaliya and Natasha Narwal on 15 June 2021 in the case of Delhi Riots under Unlawful Activities.
The bench if Justices Siddharth Mridul and Anup J Bhambhani orderd on first impression that no offence under Section 15,17 or 18 UAPA is made out on the basis of the material in record in the case against the three. Bail is granted to them on the grounds of a personal bond of RS.50000 and to local suriteis and the conditions of the bail also include the three surrendering their passports and not to indulge in any activity that would distrub the case.
Asif is a student in Jamila Millia Islamia in the course of B.A Honour’s ( persian) and other two are scholars at Jawaharlal Nehru University.All of them are in custody since may 2020.
According to Delhi Police , in the riots of Citizenship Amendment Act they conspired to cause so much distrusting at such an extent at the National Capital that can distrub the law and lead the disorderliness and members of Pinjra Tod women created Madina Masjid Site as a pre planned consipracy.
They even tried to embarrasse the Indian Government at International Level as they ordinated Chakka jam and encourage violence in National Capital on the day of the visit of US President.
