Punjab Chief Minister Amarinder Singh (Amarinder Singh) by increasing Covid -19 statewide bans with some exemptions on Monday June 15 (Punjab Unlock Update) ordered.
According to the latest order issued by the government, shops will be allowed to open till 6 pm and private offices can work with 50 percent capacity. However, the Night Curfew will be applicable from 7 pm onwards. He announced the imposition of curfew till 6 am on weekdays including Saturday and regular weekend curfew on Sundays.
With the positivity rate in the state coming down to 3.2 per cent and active cases also coming down, the chief minister allowed 20 people to gather, including weddings and cremations.
Recruitment examinations will be allowed to be conducted subject to adherence to social distancing and other appropriate norms, though online mode will be preferred. Sports training has also been allowed for national and international events and the Department of Sports and Youth Affairs has been asked to issue necessary guidelines, which are to be strictly followed.
Reviewing the COVID situation with ministers, senior police and administrative officials and health experts, the Chief Minister said that the district administration may decide the opening of non-essential shops, including weekends, depending on the local situation, but while ensuring crowding. So that the spread of covid can be avoided. On government offices, he said attendance can be decided by the head of the office, but co-morbid or handicapped employees can be given risk relaxation.
Amarinder Singh said further relaxations will be given in the coming weeks based on the results, if cases continue to decline, gyms and restaurants can be opened after a week with 50 per cent, and other conditions as per expert advice. Referring to the spread of black fungus, he said that there are 381 cases in the state at present, out of which 38 have already been cured and 265 are under treatment.
He assured that there is an adequate supply of medicines for treatment, and said that his government will continue to increase the supply and ensure that there is no shortage of any essential medicine in the state.
