China has confirmed the world’s first human case of a new strain of bird flu after a 41-year-old man was hospitalised with fever.
Bird flu has been found in humans for the first time in China. The H10N3 strain of bird flu has been found in a 41-year-old man. This has been confirmed by the National Health Commission of China. This person hails from Xinjiang, China.
NHC said that this person was admitted to the hospital on April 28 last after showing fever and other symptoms. A month later, i.e. on May 28, the H10N3 strain was confirmed to have been found in this person’s body. However, the NHC has not provided any information about how the person was infected with the virus.
However, the H10N3 strain is not as powerful and also has a lower risk. The NHC also said that there is very little chance of this virus strain spreading on a large scale.
The condition of the victim is stable now and will be discharged from the hospital soon. No one has been found infected in the medical examination of the people who came in contact with the person.
