The Allahabad Highcourt on Wednesday has ordered protection of a woman who had converted herself from Muslim to Hindu.
The order was passed after the woman complained of threats received by her father objecting her conversion and marriage.
She was a Muslim by birth but had faith in Hindu religion and she adopted the Hindu religion, married as per Hindu rites and also changed her name.
On April 15, an application was made to district magistrate Meerut and all the necessary news items was published in newspaper regarding change of her name and religion.
The matter to be heard next on June 23.
