Senior advocate Gopalakrishnan kurup will be the next advocate general of Kerala. The decision has been taken at the cabinet meeting which was held on Thursday.

Senior advocate TA shadi will be new director general of prosecution.

Senior advocate Gopalakrishnan was born in May 1953 and was enrolled as an advocate in September 20,1976.

He has started his practice at Kottayam in 1976 attached to the chambers of late M Thomas who was ex MLA. He then later shifted his practice to kerala High Court in 1984.

He has earlier served as state prosecutor for the Kerala government between 1999-2001.In 2005 he was elected the president of Kerala high court advocates association.

He was designated a senior advocate on July 29,2010.
