Lawyers should be given access to Courts and offices during Lockdown

In a letter written by the Chairman of the Bar Council of Tamil Nadu and Puducherry, P. S. Amalraj requested the Chief Secretary of the Tamil Nadu Government to allow the police to give access to the lawyers to the Courts and their offices during the lockdown.

Recently, the Tamil Nadu Government announced that the state will go into a lockdown from 10th of May to 24th of May to further curb the spread of Corona Virus.

Urging this, the Bar Council has further assured the government that its members would follow other advisories that may be issued by the Authorities.

In Madhya Pradesh, the High Court directed that any practicing advocate located anywhere in any district headquarters of the State may apply for passes for visiting office from the residence and vice versa, during the ongoing lockdown/Corona curfew.
