The bar association of the Punjab & Haryana High Court seeks the transfer of the Chief Justice Ravi Shanker Jha to some other high court, and also decided not to appear in his court until he is transferred out of the P&H High Court.
This resolution was being passed by the executive committee of the bar association on May 7.
It was being decided because the important matters related to bail pleas, writ petition and detention are not being listed by the Chief Justice during this pandemic of Covid19.
The resolution which was being passed by the executive committee mentioned that more than 300 of such complaints were being received by the resolution committee. Moreover, the strength of the bench was reduced to only 11 from earlier 46 for this virtual hearing which increases the pendency of the case in the High Court.
The bar association also warned all the advocates to not to appear in the CJ’s court after May 20, otherwise disciplinary action against them will be taken.
One such similar resolution was also being passed by the committee on February 1.
