Due to this covid pandemic, Allahabad High Court has decided to advance summer vacations early. The vacations, which were earlier scheduled to start from June 1, will start from May 10.
This decision was made in view of the request done by the Allahabad High Court Bar Association. The Association had asked to the Acting Chief Justice Sanjay Yadav to consider advancing the summer vacation so that the spread of COVID-19 may be contained.
The order notified by the Registrar on May 6 reads:
“The Summer Vacation in the High Court of Judicature at Allahabad and Lucknow, and its subordinate courts be preponed and observed from 10.05.2021 to 04.06.2021 in lieu of 01.06.2021 to 30.06.2021…”
The Association also requested the Chief Justice to give interim bails for atleast eight weeks to all the undertrials accused who have been sent to jail for crimes punishable with a sentence of up to ten years.
