Justice Virendra Kumar Srivastava,who was a judge of the Lucknow bench of the Allahabad High Court, passed away at the age of 59.
He was suffering from Covid-19 and was undergoing treatment at the Sanjay Gandhi Post Graduate Institute (SGPGI) in Lucknow.
Justice Srivastava was appointed as Additional Judge on November 22, 2018 and was sworn in as a permanent judge of the Allahabad HC on November 20, 2020.
Justice Srivastava completed his law course in 1986 and post graduation in 1988. In 2005, he was appointed to the Higher Judicial Service and in 2016, was promoted as District and Sessions Judge. In November 2018, he was appointed an Additional Judge of the Allahabad High Court. His post was made permanent in November 2020.
Today Allahabad High Court Lucknow bench will be closed to mourn the death of Justice Srivastava.
