ILNS: The Chief Metropolitan judge of the Tis Hazari Courts on Monday reserved his order on the Delhi Police’s custody plea for Punjabi actor Deep Sidhu, in remission for his role within the violence and also the hoisting of a Sikh flag at Red Fort on Republic Day this year throughout the farmers’ tractor rally/parade.
During today’s hearing, Chief Metropolitan judge (CMM) Gajendra Nagar asked, “Why do you want his custody?” To this, the Officer aforesaid replied that they need to spot the opposite conspirators who were with him and they need to question him over his videos with Jugraj Singh, the person who has hoisted the flag at Republic Day.”
Advocate Abhishek Gupta, showing for Sidhu, took the court through the facts of the case and also the bail order and aforesaid that even one-day captivity “would currently be offending of his fundamental rights”.
The court observed that Sidhu has already got bail in another case – as of FIR 96/2021 – and this is a distinct case. to the present advocate Gupta aforesaid made the argument The allegations in each the cases are identical. they’re doing fraud with the criminal jurisprudence; they want to negate the order of bail. If they assert that each the FIRs are same, why didn’t they approach the High Court for quashing of 1 of the FIR?”
The CMM completed the hearing and reserved his order.
