Through his counsel, member of parliament from Congress, Shashi Tharoor said that there is no evidence against him indicating either physical or mental torture against his wife Sunanda Pushkar.
Senior advocate appearing on behalf of Tharoor told special judge Geetanjili Goel that,” There is no physical or mental torture… All her relatives and friends told that she was a strong person. Even her son said that she could not have committed suicide…. How can there be the question of abetment? when they have not established if it is suicide… first prove suicide then prove abetment.”
Senior counsel Palwa also told the court that there was an allegation made against Tharoor of the Extra marital affair but there was not any evidence for the same. It was mentioned in the chargesheet only.
Next date of hearing is now fixed for April 9.
