Earlier the interval between two doses of the covishield vaccine was four to six week.
Union health minister Rajesh Bhushan has written to the chief secretaries of all states and union territory and direct to increase the period between the 1st and the 2nd dose to four-eight weeks.
The interval is revised by the national technical advisory immunisation group(NTAGI).and after that the national expert group for vaccine Administartion for COVID-19 (NEGVAC) also reconsidered the interval period.

Pertains to the covishield vaccine and not to Bharat biotech’s vaccine.
As the cases are again rising rapidly it is very important that people take the vaccine and should not go out unnecessary.
