The Delhi HC on Wednesday asked the Ministry of Home affairs about what did they do against the association of IPS which was not recognized by the Ministry, i.e. unrecognised IPS association.
The Court has also issued notices to various security agencies for disbanding the action of the association and for freezing their bank account as well.
The plea was filed by the officers of various central security forces. They demanded in their plea that FIR should be registered against the members and office bearers of the said unrecognised association.
Justice Pratibha M Singh observed that, “You (MHA) will have to then take action against them. This is a categorical stand of MHA.
Advocate Ankur Chibber representing the petitioners also put before the court that they had earlier represented the same matter for taking action against the said association before the MHA but they disposed of it by saying that, “no comments to be given”.
The petitioners through their advocate contended that it is not permissible for the member of the police force to form any such association without the sanction of the Central Government but the IPS association (unrecognised) continues to represent itself as a union in various cases pending before different Courts, the Pay Comission etc.
