The Bombay High Court today has given activist Nikita Jacob security from detention for 3 weeks in a case relating to the “toolkit”, registered by Delhi Police in the matter regarding the ongoing farmers protest.
Justice PD Naik declared the order upon reviewing the order passed by an Aurangabad Bench of the High Court, that awarded transit bail to activist Shantanu Muluk, another person allegedly involved in the toolkit matter.
A non-bailable warrant was issued against Jacob after the Delhi police raided her house on 11th Feb. Pursuant to her inference throughout the farmer’s protests toolkit case, Jacob had requested transit bail for a 4-week period and security from every forcible activity pending the current plea.
Jacob’s plea stated that she didn’t have any religious, economic, or political intent for studying, scripting, or spreading information exchange packs/toolkits for promoting awareness, let alone to instigate violence and destruction.
She however has alleged in her plea that some spambots were already spreading her personal details, email, contact information, social networking handles, and photos on social networking sites.
The plea also stated that Jacob discovered out through a social media page called Legal Rights Observatory that a complaint has been filed with Delhi Police pursuing to “lay the blame” for the aggression on January 26, 2021, upon her.
She has added that since the FIR is in Delhi and she’s living in Mumbai, so how she would be able to justify herself.
