A notification has been released stating that any fresh appeal before NCLT with jurisdiction in Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Kerela, Andhra Pradesh, Telengana , Lakshadweep and Puducherry, shall have to filed in NCLT Chennai Bench, from 25th of January, 2021. Any Interlocutory Application, Rejoinder etc shall also have to be made before the Chennai Tribunal.
In the Swiss Ribbons Case in 2019, Supreme Court had asked to establish the Chennai Tribunal within 6 months, which has been delayed till now. After which petition had been filed in Madras High court and the Supreme Court against this delay.
The virtual working of the Tribunal is to begin from 25th January, after this long delay, in light of the petitions filed.
