Assistant police officers Sachin Waze and Riyaz Kazi visited CFO Shiva Sundaram’s home along with 2 other employees’ residence, but they were not available. This comes in the wake of arrest of the CEO, Vikas Khanchandani on Sunday from his place in West Bandra.
Police also moved HC requesting cancellation of anticipatory bail of the COO Priya Mukherjee. The court ordered Vikas to be kept in police custody till 15th December, 2020.
“Police have seized Mukherjee’s mobile phone. Its examination showed that she was also in the WhatsApp chat group where the accused discussed illegal ways to increase the channel’s TRP,” stated the remand application submitted on Sunday.
The application further said that Khanchandani has not submitted the phone which has the WhatsApp chat group. It added that Singh has stated that he had adopted illegal means to increase the TRPs on Mukherjee’s instructions.
13 people have been arrested in TRP scam so far and it looks like the Crime Branch is not stopping anytime soon with probes into other channels like Box Cinema, Maha Movies as well.
