The Mumbai crime branch on Sunday arrested Republic TV’s CEO Vikash Khanchandani in connection with the TRP manipulation scam.Mumbai Police confirmed that he was arrested on Sunday morning.
He will be produced before the holiday court on Sunday. Police said that Khanchandani, who is the 13th accused to be arrested in the case, is the beneficiary of the scam and he had knowledge of the crime.
The arrest was is done for the role of Republic TV, Fakt Marathi, Box Cinema, News Nation, Mahamovies and Wow music channels for inflating the viewership figures. The channels are accused of paying money to households (in those houses where barometers are installed) for keeping channels on.
