Prime Minister Narendra Modi said, record are needed for development and some laws from the past century have become a burden now. He said this while inaugurating the construction of Agra metro rail project through video conference. “Reforms are very much need for a new order and to give new facilities. We cannot build the next century with the laws of the previous century”, he said.
“Some laws that used to be good in past century have become a burden in the present century. Reforms should be continuous process”, said the PM, adding that his government is carrying out ‘holistic reforms’. “Earlier reforms used to happen in a piecemeal manner or keeping in mind some sectors and departments”, the Prime Minister said.
The PM said the Agra metro project would benefit the city’s population of 26 lakh and also cater to 60 lakh tourist who visit the city every year. “This metro project that would cost over Rupees 8,000 crore, will strengthen the mission related to establishment of smart facilities in Agra”, said Modi.
