The Raigad police on Friday filed a 1916 pages chargesheet containing six statements recorded before the Alibaug Magistrate implicating Arnab Goswami and two others accused in abetment to suicide case of Anvay Naik and his mother Kumud Naik.
The chargesheet has been filed as per Section 164 of Code of Criminal Procedure. The chargesheet also mentions 65 evidences and referred Anvay Naik’s suicide note as his dying declaration.
On Thursday, Arnab Goswami filed an application before the Bombay High Court seeking a stay on the filing of chargesheet. In his plea, Goswami also sought the transfer of case to CBI or any other independent investigating authority.
Arnab Goswami and the other accused were arrested in November and were sent to Judicial Custody for fourteen days. During the period of judicial custody Raigad Police was allowed to interrogate Arnab for three hours daily.
