The Gujarat High Court Mandates Community Service For Those Violating Public Health Guidelines

The Gujarat High Court has taken a massive step against those not wearing masks and not following COVID-19 protocols. It has directed the State Government to issue a notice, making community service at care centres mandatory for those violating the COVID-19 Protocols.
This order has been decided on the basis of a public interest litigation petition seeking the courts direction to make community service at COVID-19 Centres mandatory for violators. The Division Bench of Chief Justice Vikram Nath and Justice J.B Pardiwala on Wednesday has mandated that violators of COVID-19 Protocols would face the punishment of working at a non-medical COVID-19 centre for four to six hours for 15 days if they are found violating the COVID-19 Protocols such as not wearing masks. This rule will be notified to the public through a notice issued by the State Government of Gujarat.
