21-year-old man, Moin Pipdawala, a resident of the Gol Limda area, has been booked by Cyber Police for creating an Instagram account of a girl and uploading lewd comments and pictures.
The aggrieved party can file a complaint before the Adjudicating officer appointed under the IT Act, who is generally the Chief Secretary or the Secretary of Information Technology Department of the respective state, in case of falling prey to these offences. This application has to be filed within 4 months and needs to be heard within the same time period. The whole of the issue has to be heard decided within the time period of 6 months.
It is necessary to first distinguish whether the fake account was made up of a person who exists in reality or it was a random fake account in order to hold a person liable for punishment.
According to cybercrime sources, a month ago the girl made an application to cybercrime police station regarding the Instagram account in her name.

- The accused and victim met during the university exams in 2018 and had become friends.
2.As the girl separated from the accused, to get even by besmirching the girl, the accused made the Instagram account.
3.We obtained the IP log of the device used to create the account and reached the accused.
4.The accused confessed that he wanted to get even with the girl and thus made the account. We sent him for a pre-arrest Covid-19 test.
