Delhi Police have reported the incident of a young boy aged 17 shooting his younger sister after she refused to stop texting her male friend on Whatsapp. The incident took place in North-East Delhi’s Welcome neighbourhood on thursday evening. A case of attempt to murder under section 307 of the IPC along with a charge under the Arms Act has been registered.
The police were informed around noon and the 16 year-old girl has been admitter in the Jag Prawesh Chandra Hospital and has been reported to be likely to survive.
The weapon which the boy had procured from a friend who had died early this year has been retained by the police. The boy now deemed a juvenile has been sent to remand and an investigation team under the ACP of Bhajanpura station has been constituted.
