Directions were issued to the Karnataka Secondary Education Examination Board (KSEEB) to not treat his preparatory exam performance as the final one.
Board was directed to give the petitioner and anyone else suffering from a similar disease as “Osteogenesis Imperfecta” an extra 2 hours during the final board exam.
The illness is within the purview of persons with disabilities because bones of these kind of patients break easily.
Justice Krishna S Dixit passed the order which was well within his jurisdiction. He stated that it is not possible for the student to be passed without writing it, but at the same time, special circumstances should require some flexibility.
