In a shocking incident, a man in Punjab’s Ludhiana allegedly obtained objectionable photos of his 23-year-old wife using spy cameras in his house’s bathroom and later used them to blackmail her.
His wife, who now stays at her parents’ home, told the police that when she was living at her matrimonial house, her husband, without her knowledge, installed cameras in the bathroom and clicked her objectionable photos.
Now, using those photos, he is demanding Rs 20 lakh, she said, adding that he has threatened her, saying that he would circulate the photos on social media platforms if she refuses or fails to pay the money.
Based on the woman’s complaint, police have registered an FIR under sections 67 and 67-A of the IT Act, 2000. The ASI said the names of the accused will be added to the FIR after inquiries. Police are in the process to arrest them, he added.
