A fresh Fir has been filed against Arnab Goswani, the Editor-in-chief of Republic TV, for assaulting woman police during the arrest on 4th November 2020. The said FIR was registered in NM Joshi Marg Police station. When a police team reached his house to arrest him, Arnab Goswani committed the offence of assault towards a lady police officer.
The FIR was filed under these sections of Indian Penal code:
· Section 353: Assault or criminal force to deter public servant from discharge of his duty
· Section 504: Intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of the peace.
· Section 506: Punishment for criminal intimidation.
· Section 34: Acts done by several persons in furtherance of common intention.
