Supreme Court orders states to provide dry ration to sex workers

The Supreme Court has directed all states to supply dry ration to sex workers in adequate amounts and uniformly. It asks them to seek help from the NACO and legal services authorities in distinguishing them for providing succour throughout the pandemic.

The Supreme Court has directed States to follow the SOP and file a report in 4 weeks.

The Court was hearing the plea, seeking basic things and ration to sex workers amid the pandemic scenario without insistence in identity proof.

The plea conjointly sought-after a direction to the State Labour Departments and also the Unorganised workers Board to register sex workers and supply the financial aid measures that each worker is entitled to.
