ED questions Farooq Abdullah in Jammu and Kashmir Cricket Association scam

The ED questioned former J&K CM Farooq Abdullah in connection with a money laundering probe in a case related to the alleged embezzlement of Jammu and Kashmir Cricket Association funds.

The questioning is in connection with alleged misappropriation of Rs 43 crore when Farooq Abdullah was the chairman of J&K Cricket Association, the sources said. The questioning on Monday is taking place in Srinagar and is based on bank documents, sources added.

Officials said the National Conference president’s statement will be recorded under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA) as in the past.

The NC leader was questioned by the agency in 2019 and CBI in January 2018 in connection with his alleged involvement in the Jammu and Kashmir Cricket Association scam.
