
The Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) has notified the NGT that it has sent Flipkart and Patanjali Peya show cause notices for closing operations, since they are not registered and they did not respond to their details.
In a report to the National Green Tribunal (NGT), it has been reported that the Show Cause Notice for Closing of Operations and Environmental Compensations for failure to comply with the requirements of the Plastic Waste Management (Amendment) Rules, 2018, was given to these units in conjunction with Section 5 of the Environment (Protection) Act , 1986.
The CPCB has also told NGT that the CPCB has registered four companies – Hindustan Coca-cola Beverages Pvt Ltd, Pepsico India Holding Pvt Ltd, Bisleri International Pvt Ltd, and Ms NourishCo Beverages Ltd. “However, information on the evidence-based review of application of the Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) Liability Action Plan has not been provided for.”
