
Bail pleas filed by actress Rhea Chakraborty, her brother Showik Chakraborty, Sushant Singh Rajput’s house-manager Samuel Miranda, Abdel Basit Parihar, and Zaid Vilatra, have been rejected by a Special Court for offences under the Narcotics Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act. The judicial custody now stands extended till 22nd September.
Advocate Satish Maneshinde, who represents Rhea Chakraborty, commented,
“Once we get a copy of the order, we will decide next week on the course of action, about approaching the Bombay High Court.”
NCB has demanded the judicial custody of Rhea Chakraboty for 14 days to get time for investigation and to find the nexus of persons involved in procurement and distribution of Marijuana, hashish, and other drugs and whether payments made for such procurement were done with the knowledge of Rhea Chakraborty. She was arrested for alleged offences under Section 8(c), 20(b)(ii), 22, 27 A, 28, 29 of the NDPS Act, 1985.
