While hearing the matter a Bench of *Justices Ashok Bhushan, R Subhash Reddy and MR Shah* discussed whether NLSIU can hold a separate entrance test or not.
Since the petition challenged the mode of the conducting exam, the Bench observed that, “If the petitioner doesn’t want to file a counter, regarding the authority of NLSIU to conduct its own exam, we will consider your submission.”

The Bench directed NLSIU,
“You have already decided to hold the exams. Students are ready. Hold the exam, but no results can be announced till the pendency of the proceedings. However, NLAT result will be subjected to the court proceedings.”
