On 18th August, Supreme Court reserved its order on various petitions on cancellation of final year exams to be conducted by UGC which were filed by students. The petition was filed highlighting the ongoing concerns of health and security related issues due to the COVID-19 Pandemic.
The Apex Court gave three days to the parties to file written statements for the final arguments in the court. The verdict is expected to be delivered on the upcoming Monday.
The bench had heard arguments of various states such as Delhi, Odisha, Maharashtra and West Bengal. The governments argued the impossibility of conducting exams under such circumstances.
