On Tuesday, a division bench comprising of Justice A.S. Chandurkar and Justice A.B. Borkar of Nagpur bench of Bombay High Court directed State Government to give reply to the emergency parole application filed by Ex-Delhi University professor G.N. Saibaba for attending post-funeral rites of his deceased mother, which is going to happen in Hyderabad.

The Ex-Delhi University professor was convicted under Sections 13 and 18 of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act, 1967 along with Section 120B of Indian Penal Code and sentenced to life imprisonment in 2017 judgment. He was convicted of having strong relations with Maoists.

The Court will hear the matter next on August 18, 2020.
