After a departmental inquiry found that charges of misconduct made against Professor Jeet Singh Mann were valid, he was demoted to the rank of Associate Professor for a 5-year period by the Vice-Chancellor of National Law University of Delhi (NLU Delhi). Dr Ranbir Singh has signed the order of demotion.
The Executive Council of NLU Delhi had approved the suspension of Prof Mann pending an enquiry into these allegations, but he was not suspended.
Prof Mann has been using social media to make wild allegations against the authorities in the University without any basis and the second allegation claimed stalking a research associate.
After considering the representation submitted by Prof Mann in July this year, as well as the report of an inquiry committee, the Vice-Chancellor has accepted the committee’s report and concluded that the allegations against Prof Mann stand proved.
