The Delhi high court on Tuesday has issued a notice during a petition filed seeking directions to release The funds of pension for the Widows amid COVID-19 pandemic.
A division bench of the justice D.N. Patel and Justice Prateek Jalan has issued notice to the Delhi Government and sought its response.
The petition has been filed by Mr. Harpal Singh Rana, a welfare worker through his Advocate Mr. Akhil Rana seeking direction to the respondents to release the funds of widow pensioners urgently after due verification of these pensioners whose pension has been withheld and is discontinued only on the imaginary grounds.
Mr. Akhil while appearing before the Court submitted that the Widow pension has been withheld giving a vague reason that the address of the pensioner wasn’t found.
The petition stated that āthe Parameters/Condition for the Widow Pension and Financial assistance for marriage of the Widowās daughter aren’t consistence with one another.ā
The court has issued notice and listed the matter for August 26.
